Snapdragon Stadium is the home of the San Diego Legion rugby team. If you’re a sports enthusiast seeking a new and exciting team to support, look no further than the SD Legion rugby matches at Snapdragon. San Diego Legion has taken Major League Rugby (MLR) by storm since its establishment in 2017.
The SD Legion 2024 rugby season will kick off in February 2024, run approximately 4-5 months with a championship in early summer (June.)

The Legion’s success did not stop there. In the subsequent seasons, they consistently secured their place in the playoffs, reaching the finals in both 2020 and 2021, narrowly missing out on the ultimate glory. 2023 Season Recap
The San Diego Legion’s 2023 rugby season was exceptional and record-breaking. They achieved a remarkable 16-1 record, securing the most wins and the longest winning streak (14 games) in Major League Rugby history. With 74 points, they established a new league high and maintained an undefeated home record (9-0), boasting the largest point differential (+269), before going on to their first MLR championship match. The Legion faced the New England Free Jacks (15-2) in the title match, having advanced by defeating Seattle in the Western Conference Final.
The San Diego Legion aimed to cap a strong season with a championship but fell just short, losing narrowly to the New England Free Jacks 25-24 at SeatGeek Stadium. Le Roux Malan’s 77th-minute try for the Free Jacks proved decisive, countering Nathaniel Augspurger’s two scores for the Legion. Despite a valiant effort, the Legion couldn’t secure their first title, marking the end of a memorable season.
