Choosing Your Seats

Snapdragon Stadium offers excellent sightlines throughout, but here’s what to know for Aztecs games:

Aztec Sideline

The SDSU team sideline is located on the East side of the field. To sit directly behind the Aztecs bench and coaching staff, choose Sections C132 through C140.

Sun vs. Shade

For day or late afternoon kickoff times, shade is a key factor. The West side (Sections 123-133, 323-333) gets shaded first as the sun drops behind the stadium structure, while the East side stays exposed to direct sunlight until closer to sunset.

Traffic & Exiting

While Snapdragon Stadium generally handles traffic smoothly via Friars Road and the I-15, expect heavier exit delays after major rivalry or marquee games. Consider lingering post-game near the concourses or taking the Trolley to bypass traffic entirely.

About Snapdragon Stadium

Snapdragon Stadium opened in 2022 as the home of SDSU Aztecs football. The 35,000-seat venue is also home to San Diego FC (MLS) and the San Diego Wave FC (NWSL), and hosts major concerts and events throughout the year.

The Stadium’s History

Following the departure of the San Diego Chargers, San Diego voters approved the SDSU Mission Valley initiative, authorizing the university to purchase and transform the former San Diego County Credit Union Stadium site into a expanded campus center and modern multi-use venue.

Supported by a generous $15 million gift, the Playing Field was named Bashor Field at Snapdragon Stadium. Construction began in April 2020, and the stadium officially opened its doors for the 2022 football season.

Other SDSU Sports at Snapdragon

In addition to football, Aztecs Soccer teams play their home matches at the adjacent SDSU Sports Deck. Looking for SDSU Lacrosse information?
