SDSU Aztecs home games come with more than football. Theme nights, halftime spectacles, military and first-responder recognitions, and giveaways for the first 10,000 fans through the gate — the 2026 season at Snapdragon Stadium has all of it on the way. SDSU’s official 2026 promotional schedule is now set. Here is the confirmed theme night and giveaway slate for every home game:

2026 is also SDSU’s first year in the rebuilt Pac-12 Conference, which brings a brand-new set of conference matchups — and a few new wrinkles in the in-game experience.

What to Expect from 2026 Aztec Promotions

SDSU has locked in its familiar rotation of theme nights across the home slate. Here is the official playbook for 2026:

  • River Park Block Party — For every home game, gates to the River Park Block Party open 5 hours before kickoff. Expect live music, food trucks, family activities, and premium tailgating.
  • Summer Send-Off (Sept. 19) — A warm-weather September game that leans into San Diego’s coastal identity with island eats, tropical entertainment, and the highly anticipated Beach Straw Hat giveaway.
  • Hispanic Heritage Night (Oct. 3) — Cultural programming, entertainment, and activities pre-game at the Block Party, perfectly timed with the Aztecs’ inaugural Pac-12 home opener.
  • Homecoming (Oct. 17) — “Once an Aztec. Always an Aztec.” The classic alumni reconnect event designed to pack the stadium and rally behind the team against a familiar rival.
  • Halloween (Oct. 31) — Fans are encouraged to dress up for a spirited evening of game-day fun and trick-or-treating around the stadium.
  • Military Appreciation (Nov. 14) — The final home game of the season. Departing seniors are typically honored pregame, paired with tributes to military, first-responders, and local service members.

How Aztec Giveaways Work

Giveaway items at Snapdragon Stadium (like the Sept. 19 Beach Straw Hat) are capped at the first 10,000 fans through the gates. That covers a typical Aztec football crowd, but not always — when interest spikes for a marquee opponent (like a Pac-12 rivalry game), inventory can run out earlier than expected. If a giveaway is part of why you’re going, plan to be at the gates 60-90 minutes before kickoff and have your mobile tickets downloaded in advance so you’re not stuck in the entry line when the freebies disappear.
