NCAA Football in San Diego

On August 28, 2025, the Stony Brook Seawolves will travel cross-country to face the San Diego State Aztecs at Snapdragon Stadium. The Thursday night matchup kicks off the 2025 SDSU football season and is also the home opener. Kickoff time is 7:00PM. SDSU History & Matchup

The San Diego State Aztecs will open their 2025 season against the Stony Brook Seawolves, an FCS program from the Coastal Athletic Association. This will be the first-ever meeting between SDSU and Stony Brook in football. While the Aztecs are a perennial contender in the Mountain West Conference, the Seawolves have a history of competing tough in the FCS ranks. This non-conference game will provide an early opportunity for SDSU to establish momentum heading into the season.
