The San Diego date is part of the
Music of the Spheres World Tour. The Music of the Spheres World Tour is the eighth concert tour by Coldplay, announced in October 2021 to support their ninth studio album. The tour focuses on environmental sustainability, with efforts to reduce carbon emissions, use renewable resources, and promote eco-friendly practices. Coldplay partnered with various organizations and pledged to plant a tree for every ticket sold. The tour features pyrotechnics and confetti visuals adapted to reduce environmental impact, as well as the use of biodegradable wristbands and a mobile app to encourage eco-friendly travel options. The stage and special effects were designed to minimize energy consumption, noise, and waste. The tour received positive reviews and broke attendance records. It included multiple supporting acts, with H.E.R. being the most frequent opener. The concert is divided into four acts, each representing a different theme and stage of the journey.
Coldplay in San Diego
Coldplay last performed in San Diego in October 2017 at
SDCCU Stadium. Coldplay delivered an impressive performance in San Diego, showcasing their status as a premier rock act. They opened the show with “A Head Full of Dreams” and followed it up with their breakthrough hit “Yellow” and the energetic “Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall.” The audience was treated to the emotional and melodic “The Scientist” and the captivating “Paradise,” which featured an impressive remix at the end. Another highlight was the crowd favorite “Clocks,” with its prominent piano melody. Coldplay also delivered a powerful rendition of “Fix You,” known for its emotional impact. The setlist included the infectious “Viva la Vida” and the crowd-pleasing “Adventure of a Lifetime.” They debuted a new song, “Life Is Beautiful,” written specifically for Mexico.
