San Diego FC (SDFC) and Club Tijuana (Xolos) have formed a partnership for five years, starting in 2025, which includes an annual friendly soccer match at Snapdragon Stadium. This partnership is unique because it’s the first of its kind between a Major League Soccer (MLS) club and a Liga MX club. The match will be a part of SDFC’s season ticket packages, and plenty of tickets will be available for Xolos fans too.

Since the teams are very close geographically, the partnership aims to celebrate the shared love of soccer in the bi-national communities of San Diego and Tijuana. They plan to not only play soccer but also to engage in community service projects together. Eventually, they want to add more entertainment and festival elements to the events.

This collaboration is seen as just the beginning of a potentially important relationship between the two clubs. The matches will be organized and presented by SDFC, and more details will be announced later.

For San Diego soccer fans, this means they’ll get to see high-level soccer matches annually, with the added excitement of playing against a team from Liga MX. It’s also an opportunity for fans to engage in community projects and enjoy additional festivities surrounding the matches.
